BPIE to host expert roundtable on EPCs and renovation passports for building decarbonisation
The event gathers EU policymakers and stakeholders to inform EPBD implementation and support effective renovation strategies
The Buildings Performance Institute Europe (BPIE) is delighted to invite national policymakers and key stakeholders to an invitation-only online roundtable on “The role of energy performance certificates and renovation passports in the decarbonisation of buildings,” scheduled for Tuesday, 14 May 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST. Discussions will be held under Chatham House Rules.
As part of the EPBD.wise project, which supports Member States in implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, this roundtable will examine how EPCs and renovation passports can enrich our understanding of existing building stocks and drive effective renovation strategies. Participants will explore country-specific policy guidelines currently in development for renovation passport schemes, share best practices on strengthening EPC frameworks, and identify opportunities to accelerate building decarbonisation across the EU.
This event offers a unique forum to:
- discuss phased EPC and renovation passport implementation
- shape the EPBD.wise policy guidelines through stakeholder insights
- network with fellow experts from regional, national, and EU levels
Why it matters for iEPB:
For the iEPB project—which aims to harmonise EPCs with complementary tools like the Smart Readiness Indicator and renovation recommendations—the roundtable’s outcomes will feed directly into the common data model and policy guidance that underpin iEPB’s vision of a more synchronised, efficient, and user-friendly energy performance ecosystem.
