iEPB shines at CLIMA 2025 workshop on next-generation building performance
Making building assessments smarter, simpler, and ready for Europe’s green future, starting in Milan
At the recent “CLIMA 2025 – Practical Pathways to EPBD IV Implementation” workshop held in Milan from June 4-6, iEPB stood out as a key initiative driving innovation in the integration of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC), Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI), Renovation Passports (RP), and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
The event brought together leading EU-funded projects to explore practical and coordinated strategies for implementing the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. Represented by IVE and EPB Center, iEPB presented its common data model, web application, and SRI standalone tool – all designed to harmonize and streamline building assessment processes across Europe.
iEPB’s approach addresses a major market need: enabling professionals to conduct multiple building assessments (EPC, SRI, RP, LCA) in a single visit using a shared digital infrastructure. By promoting a unified data structure and user-friendly interfaces for both experts and building owners, the project contributes directly to the goals of EPBD IV—especially in the areas of data exchange, digital building logbooks, and national energy databases.
The workshop highlighted how iEPB supports smarter renovation decisions, facilitates compliance with new policy requirements, and encourages the adoption of digital tools in the building sector. As Europe moves toward a more decarbonized and data-driven future for its buildings, iEPB is playing a pivotal role in making integrated, user-centered, and scalable solutions a reality.
