Project partners reveal the story behind the iEPB web application and the role of EPB standards in shaping Europe’s energy performance future

iEPB project is proud to announce the release of two new video interviews featuring leading partners behind its core developments. These video conversations offer insight into the creative and technical forces driving the project forward – from the web application architecture to the foundational EPB standards and energy performance frameworks.

Miguel Angel Pascual from Efinovatic is deeply involved in the design and development of the iEPB web application and he discusses how this digital tool is central to the project’s mission. The web app is one of iEPB’s primary results: a platform that enables the management, synchronization, and analysis of multiple EPB (Energy Performance Building) assessments across Member States (watch the interview).

The web application is currenlty in progress and will be launched soon, stay updated through iEPB’s social media channels and newsletter to discover it.

Andrei Litiu from EPB center delves into the longstanding collaboration among energy assessment specialists and explains their role in validating the calculation framework behind the iEPB schema. He reflects on their work to map the status quo of energy performance certification regimes in Austria, the Netherlands, and Spain – the three pilot countries – and outlines how the team is now contributing to guidance and specification strategies for Member States to transpose the EPBD recast of 2024 into national legislation (watch the interview).

The European Commission’s guidance documents, published in June 2025, provide the regulatory framework for Member States, which have until May 2026 to transpose the recast EPBD into national law. iEPB’s efforts are well timed to inform, support, and influence that transition across the EU.
